To take relationships specific or common to Virtual Worlds usage, additional attribute values may be used in addition to those listed in the XFN spec.

rel

HTML4 definition of the ‘rel’ attribute. Here are some additional values, each of which can be used or omitted in any combination (unless otherwise noted, and except where prohibited by law) and their meanings, symmetry, transitivity and inverse if any. Please see the XFN home page for more information about XFN.

Professional (developed independently of xpn.)

employer
Someone you have worked for, usually on a long-term basis, as part of a team. Inverse is employee.
client
Someone you have worked for, usually on a short-term, independant basis. Inverse is employee.
employee
Someone who has worked for you. Inverse can be client or employer.

Virtual

mv-co-resident
Someone you share an estate of community with. Symmetric and transitive- identical to co-resident, except to clarify co-residency in the virtual space.
mv-neighbor
Someone who resides nearby, perhaps only at an adjacent parcel. Symmetric and transitive- identical to neighbor, except to clarify neighbor in the virtual space.
mv-met
Someone who’ve you met, avatar-to-avatar. Symmetric- identical to met, except to clarify meeting in virtual space.

Identity

bot
Used to clarify the difference between another identity used by a person and an account owned by the same person for operating an automated program. Required inverse is operator.
operator
A link to the person who owns and operates a bot account. Required inverse is bot.
